Join us at Hawthorns Preserve, a Midpeninsula Regional Open Space Preserve, to help eradicate invasive plants and to restore habitat. We will be holding this space for individuals who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community.
Volunteers should expect to walk through hilly, wooded terrain, to use 10 - 12 pound tools to remove a weedy shrub called French Broom. Volunteers should also expect to learn all about California native plants and Hawthorns Preserve's unique history and ecosystem. Our facilitators are members of the queer community and have years of experience building welcoming spaces for queer community outdoors.
Visit this page to learn more about the ecosystem and accessibility considerations at Bear Creek Redwoods preserve.
