Volunteer Outside at Stulsaft Park with Youth Climate Ambassadors

  • Stulsaft Park 1 Recreation Way Redwood City, CA 94061 United States (map)

Join the San Mateo County's Department of Sustainability's Youth Climate Ambassadors (YCA) for a rewarding community service event as we work together to remove the invasive French broom from Stulsaft Park! YCA is a group of passionate youth dedicated to environmental action and sustainability, and we’re excited to lead this effort to restore our local ecosystem. By clearing out this fast-growing invasive plant, we’ll help native species thrive. After our restoration work, we will take a short nature walk to explore and learn about the native plants that make this park so special. Plus, we’ll provide snacks and host a fun raffle where you can win a reusable water bottle or a cute tote bag!

Accessibility considerations include: Bending, walking, hiking on uneven and steep terrain, and being outside for the entire length of the event.

Visit Grassroots Ecology’s Stulsaft Park page to learn more about the ecosystem and accessibility considerations.

Waivers/Registration: All attendees must be registered individually and have approved the online waiver through this Eventbrite page. Youth under 18 must have their legal guardian approve the waiver on their behalf.

Meeting Space: Meet by the native plant and animal mural/storage unit at the lower entrance to Stulsaft Park. Multiple drinking fountains are available, and there are multi-user gendered restrooms eight minutes from the meeting spot, and single-user gendered bathrooms by the Farm Hill Entrance/playground which is an eight-minute walk from our work area. The work area is less than a ten-minute walk from the meeting spot.

There is cell service within some areas of the park.
