Volunteer in Redwood City: Community Habitat Restoration at Stulsaft Park

  • Stulsaft Park 1 Recreation Way Redwood City, CA 94061 United States (map)

Come enjoy the outdoors and work to restore a neighborhood park! Volunteers should expect to support the restoration of this California ecosystem by pulling and clipping a viney invasive plant species. We will also plan to spend time during this workday using buckets to add a fresh layer of wood chips to our restoration areas in order to reduce water loss and suppress weeds. However, this activity depends on whether we will receive a delivery of mulch. We will end our time together with a walk that showcases plants growing in Stulsaft Park!

Accessibility considerations include hiking on uneven and steep terrain, being outside for the entire length of the event, and kneeling, squatting, and standing to pull invasive plants. Volunteers will be supplied with gloves, kneelers, buckets, and all tools, including clippers, and shovels.

Visit Grassroots Ecology’s Stulsaft Park page to learn more about the ecosystem and accessibility considerations.
